Paging Dr. Alberto...

Well, my wonderful "animal loving" husband has done it again. A few weeks ago he was at work clearing out the back storage area at Chili's and low and behold what does he find??? A baby pigeon that had fell off the roof at Chili's. So what does he do you ask??? He brings it home to nurse it back to health. He has managed to get this bird eating on her own and is now learning how to fly. I am totally convinced that Alberto is a "Closet Vet". I asked him if he was going to let "Pepita" go now that she is all better, needless to say he looked at me like I was crazy. I guess "Pepita" will be staying with us for a while! (unless there happens to be a stray cat wondering around!) Just kidding.... I Love being that awful!!! HEHEHEHE

Why Ladies Should Avoid A Girls Night Out After They Are Married....

This is funny.. Thank's Michelle!

The other night I was invited out for a night with the 'girls..' I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, 'I promise!'
Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily.
Around 3 a.m., a bit loaded, I headed for home.
Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hallway started up and cuckooed 3 times.
Quickly, realizing my husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times.
I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution, in order to escape a possible conflict with him. (Even when totally smashed.... 3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos totals 12 cuckoos =MIDNIGHT!)
The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, I told him 'MIDNIGHT'... he didn't seem pissed off in the least. Whew, I got away with that one!
Then he said 'We need a new cuckoo clock.'
When I asked him why, he said, 'Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said 'oh shit.'
Then it Cuckooed 4 more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another three times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then tripped over the coffee table and farted.

Mountain Madness!

We took the kids to the Manzano Mountains today to pick Pinon. We had a good time walking through the mountains breathing in the fresh air. There was a lot of small pinon but once in a while we would find some big stuff. Alberto kept tricking the kids into believing that rabbit poop was "really big pinon". The sad part about it was that the kids almost believed him! Diana was really working hard at picking pinon she was just like her grandfather. It was like she was in the Milagro Bean Fields! Sophia had to use the bathroom, but as you know there are no bathrooms out in the middle of now where! So I was trying to tell her how to use it in the trees, sorry to report she pee'd all over her socks and shoes! AHHHHH Family memories!

There was a farmer had a bunnie and Alberto was his nameo

Mr. Farmer Alberto thinks we live on a hundred acre farm! He got the kids Bunnies (pause for rage). The kids were so happy it was like Christmas around here. Jacob's Bunnie is the brownish one he named it Peanut Butter. Diana and Sophia have the Black and White one named Oreo. As you can see my children don't have a knack for giving names to animals. Most of our animals get food names anyway! (I think its the Cuban in them that they think everything is food!)

Tonight was the Special Shapes Rodeo and the kids had a blast. Ervin was a little grumpy, but as soon as the balloon's came up he was just fine. The after balloon fire works were really nice too.

The kids even got to take a pic with Darth Vader and Nemo.

Happy 12th Birthday Jacob!

Jacob turned 12 on the 4th of October (Saturday). He had a really bad Birthday! We were in the ER for his Birthday. As most of you know Jacob has had Kidney Stones before. Well he has managed to pass 2 stones and there was 1 left in the left kidney. The Urologist said that it was small enough that he will be able to pass it just fine. WELL, you think It could have choose a better time pass...... NOOOOOO It had to pass on his Birthday! So today he is just hanging out on the couch resting. My mom made him the famous "Gallegos Boy's Pudding Cake" and my dad came to deliver it today. He pushed Jake's head into the cake and they Jacob did the same to my dad! (its a Gallegos thing). Poor my punkie, had to have his B-day at Presbyterian. I'm gonna make it up to him with a big party next weekend.

Tooth Fairy Visit

Happy Birthday Roxie, We Miss you!

A light at the end of the tunnel

Your probably tired of my vents about Jimmy Carter. WELL ....... sorry I still have more to say. Just kidding, I have finally had my fill of my child being placed in the den of wolves and I pulled him out of JCMS. I have enrolled him in Christan Heritage Academy. It is a really good Christian school with high academic standards. I really feel good about this move, I think he will have a great education and he wont have to worry about if he will be beat down everyday. It looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Train your child in the way in which you should have gone yourself..

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye.

A Night Under the Stars

Tonight was really cool! My Cousin Patricia has a friend who is a Astronomer and he brought out the big telescope and set it up at the park for my kids. We were able to see Jupiter and 6 of its moons. We saw Venus and Galaxy's and he split stars so that we could see them. It was a night of learning and fun. Jacob was hung on his every word. We even got to see when a star dies out the ring of "dust" that it leaves behind. It was a beautiful sight to see. He showed us open and closed star clusters that look so beautiful I thought that's what the entrance to Heaven must look like!

Soccer Game

Today was Diana's 1st game of the Fall Season. The team is called the Eagles, they are purple and white. There game was this morning at 11:00 against the Green and black team with no name yet. The Eagles did great, they had great team work passing the ball and they even made a goal! They didn't win but they get an "A" for effort. The other team beat us 4 to 1. Diana is number 4 and Mariah is number 7. They sure had a great time! Here is a little Clip of her game.

Annoyed in Albuquerque

Ok, so here's the 411 with Jacob's school. As most of you know I was a little worried about him going to school at Jimmy Carter Middle School. Jacob really wanted to go to JC Middle School because most of his friends are going there. So, against my "GUT" feeling we put him there. WELL, the first week of school was ok but then shortly after one of the 8th graders from the BD class (Behavior Disorder Class) started picking on him at lunch. He was calling Jacob names and thumping him on the head during passing periods. We went to the Principle of the school and she said "don't worry I'll take care of it". Well it was ok for about 2 weeks and then Jacob called me and said that same guy tried to choke him! I high tailed it over to JC Middle school and almost killed everyone in a 20 ft radius!. She again said "don't worry I'll handle it". I am just praying to God for answers what to do about this. I cant put him in another Middle school in the west side because they are not accepting any transfers right now. The other thing that makes me really mad is that he only has about 10 minuets of homework every night! Last year he had plenty of homework and the work was hard enough for him to always be learning something new. Right now he is doing work that he did in the 4th grade!!!!. I wish I was rich so I could hire Jennifer Carrillo (his teacher last year) and have her be our teacher in our mansion full of cooks and maids! SO SHOOT ME FOR DREAMING!!! Ok that's my gripe for the day!
Signing off for now,
Annoyed in Albuquerque

Last night was Painted Sky's Golden Corral Night. We got to keep 10% of the profits we made plus tips. We did great!, we made over $200.00 in just tips alone. It was really fun to play "waitress", I havn't done that since I was 17! (which was just a few years ago!) Amy (our pto president) was waiting tables along with the PTO vice-president Lynn. Alberto and Jacob were also helping out, the best part about it was we got free dinner!

I'm Back Blogging!

Well Hello again Ya'll,
I'm back blogging thanks to my wonderful friend Sharron!. Since my computer's mother board fried I haven't been able to do anything on the computer. The computer place said to replace the mother board it would be about 400.00 to fix. Now that I have over $10,000.00 dollars in medical bills I decided it just wasn't in the budget to fix it right now. Mrs. Wonderful Sharron Huber said "well I have my old computer in the garage and its just sitting there". It's a very nice computer and it works like a charm!. Thanks to Sharron......... YEAH!!! So look for more to come and updates on my family. I am so glad I am able to see all of my friends blogs again! I feel like I have so much catching up to do.

Health Update

As you all know I have been on roller coaster of emotions with all this health stuff. I went to see a specialist at the Heart Institute and here is what they have found so far. I have a Mildly enlarged right ventricle, Mildly elevated pulmonary artery systolic pressure. So they want more tests I will be having a cardiac MRI and more blood tests to rule out RV Dysplasia. They also want to do and EP study with 3-D Cardiac Mapping of the Right Ventricle Valve to access my heart completely. I hope that the MRI shows them whatever they need to know so that I wont have to have the Mapping procedure done. Mapping is done by "fishing" electrodes into my femoral artery (the one in the leg) to my heart and electronically stimulating it to see what it does (fibrillate, beat fast, etc.) I would be semi-under local anesthesia but I don't want that procedure done. Well family and friends keep praying for me and I will keep you updated as to what is going on.

5th Grade Continuation

Jacob had his continuation (graduation) on Friday and everything went just fine. First of all I got to the school at 7:30 am to start setting up. I had about 2 parent helpers at that time. We set up and the ceremony went just fine, Jacob looked so handsome. He got a medal for Proficient in Math and Reading. Just after the ceremony we went to the park behind the school for the party. I had about 3 parents helping at that time. We had loads of food and the kids had a good time. THANK GOD for my parents they helped set up and clean up. Half way through the principal came out and heard the DJ playing " Pour some sugar on me" by Def Leopard and hit the roof. She went over to the DJ and ripped him a new one, then turned her wrath on me and ripped me a new one for hiring him. I was able to calm her and the DJ down but It was a tense few minuets. We finished up around 3:00 and I was so drained I couldn't even speak in full sentences. Thanks again to Roxie, all her ideas were a hit at the party.
